Abstract – An approach is proposed to creating a methodological apparatus for monitoring harmful gas emissions at chemically hazardous enterprises using MIS sensors (MIS: metal-insulator-semiconductor). Highly sensitive MIS sensors have been developed which contain Pd-SiO2-Si and Pd-Ta2O5-SiO2-Si structures capable of determining content of the following gases in air: H2, H2S, NO2, C2H5SH, NH3, Cl2. The sensors can be used as effective sensing devices for monitoring gas content at chemical plant facilities.
