Abstract – The paper considers the current situation regarding measures for ensuring chemical and ecological safety of industrial areas. To prevent emergencies, eliminate accidents, protect the population and reduce damage to the environment, permanent monitoring of chemically hazardous facilities and timely diagnostics of chemical hazards are conducted. The description of existing methods and tools for detecting and identifying chemical hazard sources using modern means of nondestructive testing is given.
