Abstract – A method has been developed for recycling polymer wastes (plastic packaging residues, medical wastes, postconsumer rubber technical goods, etc.), since their accumulation poses a grave threat in terms of environmental pollution. The method is based on the procedure of fuel production resulting from pyrolysis of polymer wastes. The pyrolysis reaction is carried out within the temperature range of 350-600°C at atmospheric pressure. The pyrolysis yields a series of liquid petroleum-like fractions, representing complex hydrocarbon mixtures, which can be further applied as fuels, while the other end-product is a combustible gas suitable for combustion for the purpose of producing energy.

Keywords: recycling of wastes, polymer processing, pyrolysis, alternative fuels.
