Abstract – Currently, negative factors of natural, anthropogenic and terroristic origin are turned to be real threats to economic and social development, improving the population life quality, enhancing security, and raising international standing of the Republic of Tajikistan (RT). As a part of accomplishment of the RT National Action Plan on the implementation of the UN Security Council Resolution 1540, a Chemical Safety Center was established at Nikitin Institute of Chemistry, Academy of Sciences of the RT. The paper discusses the goals and objectives of the Center including training modules and programs for employees of national institutions dealing with chemical safety issues and non-proliferation of chemical weapons. The Chemical Safety Center is expected to improve professional skills of personnel involved in this field of activity, which ultimately will play an important role in increasing the country’s national chemical safety potential.

Keywords: chemical safety center, independent identification center, hazard, risk, training modules, improving professional skills.
